Instagram for Android will soon provide a very convenient new feature. No, it wasn't inspired by snapchat or pinterest this time. Instagram wanted to make it easier for users in emerging markets to use the app, so during the Facebook Developer Conference (F8), the company announced that it would launch offline mode.

Of the 600 million users, the vast majority (up to 80%) are located outside the United States in countries with slow networks and expensive data plans. So, like Facebook and twitter, they have launched a lean version of their app instagram for developing countries, hoping to attract more users from those regions.
